In 2018, Kerala's devastating floods sparked the birth of Bhoomika NGO - a social initiative of Weavers Village. This beacon of hope supports flood-affected communities through holistic initiatives: education, healthcare, women's empowerment and environmental conservation. Handcrafted Bhoomika dolls, made from upcycled fabric by women from local shelters, symbolize resilience and determination. Bhoomika housing project recieved the National Award for the best low cost housing project from HUDCO.


In a bold move to revive a dying art, Bhoomika's One Rupee Loom Project breathes new life into discarded pit looms, transforming them into instruments of empowerment in a small village called Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.This pioneering initiative unlocks the creative potential of 100 underprivileged families, weaving together tradition, sustainability and economic freedom.
